Musingings re Hitler

reading a Q&A page in the Daily Mail (boo hiss, yeah I know).. but it says he wrote a will which included his brothers and sisters.. Does that mean there are Hitler's descendents roaming the earth.. and are they decent chaps or not..? and should we be worried...? bvz not as we won the war...

Brothers and sisters and their offspring are not descendants of a sibling, hence hitler left no decendants (that we know of)

Still.. hitlers genes albeit diluted through siblings... Just curious as Charles Dickens grandson times loads is still alive and I wondered if Hitler had anyone remotely related... (*shakes a fist at the daughters History A level interest*)

Most of his brothers and sisters died young, Hipps. I think he was left with one sister, but I don't know if she was around when he died. If she married, I bet she left out the née Hitler bit from the marriage document ;o)

Hitler had an older sister named Paula who survived the war. She kept herself to herself and lived quietly as a housewife (in Berlin I think). She occasionally visited Hitler at the Berghof but she was so reserved most people close to Hitler were surprised to learn that he even had a sister. Poor Paula was locked up by the Americans for three years after the war - for no other reason than being Hitler's sister! She was eventually released and allowed to go home in 1948.

Of course there are distant relatives of Hitler still around. It doesn't bother me and I can't understand why it should anyone else. No one seems to worry about Stalin's relatives or Chairman Mao's and they killed 30 million and 36 million people respectively!

If you look at all the modern tyrant rulers of this world,Hitler,Mussolini,Mao,etc,none seem to have had sons that follwed in their wake. It would seem as if the urge to conquer and control became diluted with the off spring (if any)....thank goodness.
