I've been sitting here for what seems like forever, but can't gete started on this one today, would appreciate some help, please:

This economic powerhouse helps keep the rest of the globe in touch. It's the apple in the eye of its citizens. A giant subway line will put you in a spin, but quiet contemplation can be found at a Unesco world heritage site or at a palace that a neighbour turned to flames. if you like your films quirky, you'll get your fill. Name the city.

The 4 pictures are:

(a) an oriental man with blood pouring down the left side of his face, slicked back hair and he (or someone else) is holding a gun to his right temple. (possibly a still from a film?)

(b) picture of lines of cars diagonally across the picture, and filling the frame

(c) the underside of the roof of what is probably a pagoda

(d) some statues (looks like two soldiers and a horse) in a lovely garden.
