I know you will know this right away but have been so long from technology - anyway - can you tell me when you are on an ordinary page text - when you want to change margins - I want to change them from centimetres to inches.
All these sites which I never had before - DOWNLOAD DOWNLOAD couldn't be arsed - I know you can do it actually on the page itself. Thanks for any help - I have been working on this bit of assignment for a day or so and never thought of you so would appreciate it urgently. Thanks
If you're in Word, you go into Format, Margins, then you find some little boxes for each side and top and bottom margins, you use the drop down menu to make the margins widers or narrower. I don't think you'll find any which measure in inches, these days.
slack as I said word did not come with this computer - the guy selling me told I would have to pay for word - anyway would I start to look for word for curiosity sake. Thanks slack
Sorry had to pop out in a hurry.
With your text doc open look for Tools/Options then click on OpenOffice.org Writer then General, under Settings change Measurement unit to Inch then click OK
Well thank you very much SlackAlice - there was a few more bits to do but i fiddled about and got there - thanks again - because I was able to copy out a complicated piece of music that will be helpful to me and it was good to be able to do it because it was in inches. God bless the horse you rode on hahhaha goodnight
As another alternative to Slackalice's offer, In Open Office go to VIEW/ and tick RULER. When the ruler appears on the .doc file at the top of the page, just right click on the ruler and you can keep changing to whatever you like, cm. or inches.
