Charity Quiz Saturday April 20Th 2013

Morning all, two questions here which I posted during the week but thought the Saturday crowd might have a go at them.
The first is from a comparisons quiz:
As close as (3,4,2,1,4). I have an answer: "the nose on a face" but cannot find any reference to it or it may be something entirely different.
The second is from a quiz where all the answers are the name of a famous building:
Symbol of naval power (1,1,1,7). I have been offered HMS Victory, HMS Belfast and other HMS ships but these can hardly be classed as buildings. Any thoughts anyone please.

I realise and understand about these land stations but we are after famous buildings here but I hardly think that these are notable in any particular way. All the other answers in this quiz are immediately familiar. However, I am most grateful for your suggestions and I'm sure when the question is solved it will be apparently obvious. Boxtops, I have been in touch with the compilers in a roundabout sort of way and am assured that no mistake has been made in compilation so we should still seek a solution.
