Can I Be Hypnotised Without Me Knowing? Blackout When On The Phone

I have entered into a very intense friendship with someone I met on facebook over the last 6 months. Last night I was on the phone with him and I seemed to blackout for about 15 minutes when I came to I heard him talking about the two of us becoming sexually involved and he asked me what I thought I just ignored him and the conversation continued as normal. This as far as I am concerned is not an option. I am wondering if I can be hypnotised without being aware of it. I have no memory of what was said during that time I was "out of it " Either I need to see a doctor about why I had a blackout or I am being hypnotised, is this crazy or is it a possibility that someone could put me into a trance over the phone? He wants to meet me on his own when I suggested bringing someone else he was most unhappy about it. And now I am getting cold feet.

This man wants more out of the relationship than you do
he is very intense
wants to meet, but not happy to do it in a safe way
you feel like you may have been manipulated by him (and apparently are perfectly happy to believe he hypnotised you for his own ends)
Yet you don't see this as a dangerous situation?

It is possible to induce a hypnotic state (ie a deeply relaxed state where the conscious mind disengages) using audio alone.

That is what the 'hypnosis CDs' are that are used successfully by many people for a variety of situations and conditions.

Of course, if he was using 'hypnotic language' with no particular purpose you may,as mcfluff said, have just drifted off to sleep.

Either way, as in any hypnosis, it is impossible to install any beliefs or instructions that don't align with your existing values and beliefs

To clarify .... audio/conversation is frequently used to move individuals into a hypnotic state ............. however a) you would know this was happening and b) entering hypnosis never feels like you have blacked out
