I am a support worker and one of my elderly clients has a war pension from when he was in the Korean War. However, he has told me that he is ineligible to claim the state pension because of this. Is this correct? TIA

I don't think so - my mother had a war widows pension (from WW2) but still got the full state pension as well.

I thought it didn't seem right
this discussion suggests you get both, though it may look as if the army pension is reduced a bit
