The LibDems have made a complete balls-up of this whole affair. I listened to one of the women that was groped by Rennard being interviewed this morning on the Today Program and she has now resigned from the Party, along with 3 others that were subject to his "wandering hands" ( her words, not mine)

At a time when all the serious Parties are supposed to be wooing the female vote, does anybody think that the LibDems have improved their standing ahead of next May's General Election ?

They deserve to be wiped out at the gen elec and probably will be.

Oh, that is going to happen anyway scoops, there is no doubt whatsoever about that. But a lot more deposits may be lost now. Its difficult to see how the Party could have handled this affair any worse than they have done.....a complete Horlicks !

They've shown themselves to be both spineless and liars as a party. They won't trouble the polls too much at the next general election.

Short term they have done themselves no favours. But folk who have done well via the status quo always look after their own, and so this is hardly unexpected. It'll fade from memory and longer term make no difference. The important thing is what they will tolerate from here on rather than what suspensions they lift or don't lift now.
