I got married in 1992 - do I go to my local registry office to obtain one of these ?

Do I need to take anything ie birth certificates ?

Don't order certificates from the central office, it costs about �27 per certificate and can take ages for them to arrive. If you order a copy from the registry office where you got married it will cost you about �7 or �8 and (if my past experience is anything to go by) arrive in 2 or 3 days. I got some just by ringing up the office concerned (looked up the number on the web), gave them the details and my card number.
