can I still claim my Fathers medal, he served on a ship called the Daneman and had a horrific time of it, since looking through his stuff I find he had five medals but none for his time on the Daneman, he is no longer with us but I feel that he should have been given this medal, who would I write to and what would I need to send as proof? thanks.

My knowledge of military history is almost non-existent, so I'm not sure as to whether you're referring to a British medal for service around the coasts of a Norway or a medal issued by the Norwegian authorities.

If it's the former, the medal should be listed here
https://www.gov.uk/medals-campaigns-descriptions-and-eligibility
You'll find a link about applying for those medals at the very bottom of the page.

If it's the latter, try a written enquiry to:
Royal Norwegian Embassy
25 Belgrave Square
London
