Very glad to hear that vulcan - it's certainly the 'in' topic of conversation around here.
there used to be a saying in the days of the British empire that "trade follows the flag". The growth of British involvement in India was actually the other way round: British traders got there first. (Though the East India Company, as its name suggests, was formed to trade with the East Indies, not India.)
Didn't Portuguese entrepreneurs andmissionaries 'get there first'?
Aside that is from the indigenous people who lnew about it all along.
I just meant "got there before the flag".
