The fighting in WW1 went on into the 1920's with the UK, US and France invading Russia to fight against the Bolsheviks:

for all the propaganda about possible Russian invasion of Britain in the Cold War, it is sometiems forgotten that Britain actually invaded Russia.

as I remember history lessons, women were granted the vote because of the sterling work they did in the war driving buses and so on. Teachers did their best to play down the existence of suffragettes and their militant methods. Wouldn't want young people to actually learn from history, would we now?
