Fake Britain This Morning
One subject was about HGVs & Taco Fiddles, I would not, never have done, would never have done even If I was threatened fiddle my card & Drive a total of 20 hrs per day, Yes 20 hrs, my opinion on this & has always been, fine the companies that much that kit put's them on the verge of going bust, it is not the Driver that's at fault here although he / she does it, it's the transport managers that threaten the driver, the HGV involved in this program, a device was fitted to interfere with the taco in-turn switching off the Limiter, the lorry a Scania was driven by an Experienced advanced Police man that was tracked in a police controlled motorway in Ireland doing a 100MPH, that truck if loaded would have wiped out a lot of people.

The transport managers should be jailed if this sort of thing is proven. I know it's difficult for the drivers but they are also culpabable. Surley though this whole taco business is too open to this kind of thing, surely the tech exists to tag trucks and drivers to ensure compliance.
I am not sure what you are trying to say TWR, unless you are trying to say haulage company's are often at fault by putting drivers under pressure.
Whilst on the subject though, taxi drivers can drive 24 hours or more without a break, and I know one driver that came on a shift on Friday lunch, and worked through till 5am Sunday morning, quite regular.

Trt, there is a big 44 tonne difference between a Taxi & a HGV, Transport Managers / Clerks do put drivers under pressure make no mistake about that, for a your driver that's not long passed his / her test, the option is there, do the load "OR" It was a young driver that was getting interviewed this morning on Fake Britain BB1 11 45, I have seen them on the road, ink on their licence still wet & they are driving a 44 Tonner.
with regards to limiters being disabled, whenever I drive down the A14 towards Felixstowe all the foreign registered lorries heading for Harwich to get the ferry to Hook of Holland seem to be going at a billion miles an hour. Never seen wagons going that fast since I went to see the truck racing at Brands Hatch.
