With the 200 anniversary of the Battle of Waterloo only a few weeks off (18th June), I thought that some may be interested in this rather interesting article?

For anyone interested (and who can get there) there is a museum on the Halifax/Queensbury road on the outskirts of Halifax, which has a plethora of 'Wellingtonia' - his campaign bed, uniform etc.. It is very well worth a visit. (It used to be free entry, but I've not been for a while.) This is because the 'Duke o' Boots' regiment was based at Halifax. The Barracks is now a school site.

Have you sent for your free (postage £2.50) Waterloo Medal?
