Am currently enjoying this drama on TV. Whilst Elizabeth 1 is having an intimate tete a tete with Robert Dudley,The Earl of Essex she states, "England pays the wage of the Scottish King" Nothing has changed then except that Scotland is ruled by a "Queen" i.e. a female (just in case we get offended).
There was me thinking the Barnett Formula was devised in 1978. :-)

When I was with Boney on Elba you were kind enough to enquire about my health but was informed I had been exiled.
How sweet of you to show concern. Merci Madame. I am glad to say I have finished chemo 2 weeks ago and am waiting for the rather nasty side effects to leave my body. I am chirpy as a cricket and happy to be back with you again with a good prognosis.
