Perhaps she saw a need, saw what she thought was a solution and just had an "aha!" moment. If the bungalow had been suitable for conversion, this wouldn't even be in the news
AOG - without knowing all the circumstances, it is perfectly possible to agree with bednobs' assessment - it is far too easy to perceive and condemn what may have been naiive behaviour, as being manipulative and callous.
Similarly, with regard to this woman trying to obtain more settlement money - we do not know the circumstances, and it is easy to indulge in a knee-jerk response that she is trying to deprive her ex-husband of his compensation because she is indifferent to his altered personality.
