A really tough one, I thought and I nowhere near finished it before bath time last night but I think I am there now.
Plenty of queries really but I shall restrict myself to two.
16ac "some vacillate, seriously nervous". Easy peasy I thought: Ill at ease is in the text. But it's not. The second a ( the one in ease ) is NOT there. But it still seems to be the answer. Where am I going wrong please?
47 ac Half doze, taking in something witty about Dick Whittington etc.. The answer is, surely, pantomimes. Which is the Whittington bit. But the rest?

Thank you ,sir. I just had another dose of the "crashed laptop" problem so I shall be brief. I am glad you confirmed that there is an error. I agonised looking for a different solution. And thank you for the other explanation.
Sorry for the delay in replying. SWMBO sent me on a " little errand" which, with the follow up, has only just finished.
I hope you are well, sir.
