Did you not enjoy it then, weecalf?

Never went but think its a rip off and puts more pressure on mothers and fathers of young children who can't refuse their young uns a "go" at a pound a minute amusement .
When I was young I thought the fun fair was the most exciting thing ever (nor many exciting things happen in Devon) Definitely worth the money
The rides last much more than one minute.
they're more than a pound, though (unless you've found a very economical one)

Not here they say
I agree, the best childhood fun. I used to repeat ride the Waltzer. If I went on one now I think I'd have to be hospitalised afterwards.
Did you scream to go faster, Prudie?
Question Author
Never been or will be on one . Waltzing off with people's hard earned money more like it
Oh yes, loved it when the guy spun you round - seriously I'd die now.
They are only £1 when they come here.
I used to love the ride that was called Noah's Ark. It used to spin around so quickly that it was just a blur in front of your eyes. It really appealed to my daredevil nature so I used to sit on the outside rails - if you didn't lean inwards and hang on for dear life you would be catapulted off. Great fun but no way would you be able to do that nowadays.
Do you have children, weecalf?
Maybe look at it through their eyes.
...it's a lot cheaper than Disneyland too ;-)
I loved the fun fairs of my childhood especially the winter ones.
Question Author
A lot need grown up accompanying the child another quid .
''Do you have children, weecalf?

Indeed. The looks on the little cherub's faces as weecalf says 'no', 'too expensive', 'squeeze your baby brother in to the footwell of the dodgem' and 'did you bring your piggybank?' will be priceless...
There is something mesmerising about a fun fair. Lots of noise, flashing lights and nice junk food. As a treat it can't be beaten

As an adult I went on the Waltzers in Aberdeen - I passed out and felt I'll or the rest of the day. Growing up and growing old aren't always fun.
^"Growing up and growing old aren't always fun" They can be.
I loved the funfair when I was a kid. My mum took me once a year and we both loved the waltzers and the dodgems
I used to love the funfairs as a kid, but I wouldn't trust the people who run them.
