I don't imagine Tony Blair looks at his reflection when tying his tie in the mornings and says "You are an immoral warmonger with innocent blood on your hands because you wanted to salve your ego by being a 'saviour' at the expense of the lives of thousands of people."
How could he live with himself.
Instead, Tony does what we all do, he thinks he is OK, not perfect, but OK.
To live with the reality would be too hard for anyone, so delusion has to be the way.

I agree with A-H.
People have to make important decisions based on the facts as they are presented.
People have short memories: Iraq declared war on Iran and used biochemical warfare, as they did against their own people in Northern Iran. Iraq conducted hostilities against Kuwait .......
Saddam Hussein continued a tyrannical rule over his people.
It was suggested that a UK firm was providing material for a gun that could deliver nuclear and biological warheads to Israel and other middle eastern countries.
S.H consistently refused the UN permission to inspect Iraq for nuclear and biological stores ( which as it happened didn't exist)
Suspicion was high that Iraq caused a real threat to the Middle East and to oil to the rest of the world.
A decision needed to be made....Blair with the support of Parliament......made it.
For me, Blair is blameless, he made a decision and has every right to be at the unveiling.

Labour Party (254), Conservative Party (146), Ulster Unionist Party (6), Democratic Unionist Party (5), Independent Conservative (1)
These were the results of the "aye" vote out of 649 (roughly)...so pretty much "all Party support" for the war.
A decision was then taken....THEN.........easy to look back eh? and criticise.
