Did Afghan Mujahideen Factions Fight Each Other During The Soviet War?
0 Answers
If so, were there significant battles between factions, or was conflict limited to just brief skirmishes? Given the level of violence that ensued following Soviet withdrawal from Afghanistan, there must have been significant hostility between the various Afghan mujahedin factions. Why were the Soviets unsuccessful in playing off one faction against the other, using dividing conquer tactics, to destroy the insurgency?
