I'm sure our allies thought of us, but these are different times and we now have a different situation.
Ahhh, documentation through a lens of the stoicism of ordinary people, those photographs are really moving aog.
I think the allied countries were busy trying to unsuccessfully defend themselves. France, Belgium, Netherlands etc., were invaded by the Nazis and Fascists.

But yes, I agree, wonderful pictures brought more to life and real by colour.

They just thought of different things - in July 1945, the war planners thought the Pacific War would go on for at least 5 years - with invasion of the Japanese Mainland 1950-52 with up to a million casualties
