....between England and the continent. I've got over 650 quid in assets, which is ten times more than one company which has won a provisional contract in the event of a no deal Brexit. I've got lots of naval experience - well, my dad had when he served in the Royal Navy. He was a wheelman on HMS Eagle and told me how easy it was to go up and down Plymouth Sound steering an aircraft carrier. I've also been on the Isle of Man ferry from Llandudno to Douglas. I know it was many years ago but it should stand me in good stead when they ask about seagoing experience. I'm also friends with a great man who was a commodore in the RCN in WW2. As well as the naval side, I had lots of experience dealing with continental freight before I retired. I'm calling the company Oceanborne Dream Ferries. As you can see, my credentials are as good as one company that's been awarded a provisional contract. Our company motto is "Fool Britannia". What do you think? Will I get the contract?

You are eminently suitable, with experience, and fiscal discipline and national loyalty.
You definitely get my vote.
I may invest a fiver in your enterprise.
A lot of people are starting a ferry-service with the just the help of an inflatable boat.

Look at the news, bedknobs. It's the lead story on BBC News. Oops! I forgot. People on here can't look for themselves can they? I'll have to provide a link. Aren't I thoughtful?
Question Author
well, not really 10! if you were thoughtful you might have made your post understandable at least
If you have uncle Albert as skipper , then yes

I wonder if some people have heard of Private Eye?
Actually, I liked it as it was without the link...Quite inventive and a little whimsical.

Luv it, I know Port Ramsgate and it's associated problems very well,
having said that I don't think any of them come close to being a Ferry Company without a Ferry, good luck with that then.
^^^^
Indeed , I posted before seeing link
Are you sure you are not over qualified?

I wish you all the best in your new venture, surely you will be over booked on your return trips.

That was with respect to sanmac post
The contract is mine though it's rather hush hush at the moment, I have a fleet of coracles and three trusty crewmen and a dog named Montmorency.
I could help by sending SOS and other dot dash thingies as my father was a WT operator in the RN.
I wasn’t sure if the ferries were for a mass evacuation come March 29 :-)
I’ve got a bottle of Lambs navy rum, do I qualify as bosun?
I expect you'll have to show a list of your contributions to the Tory party, Clarion, but that shouldn't be a problem...
Not sure where Jim Rockford comes into the story though.
