On the 80th anniversary of the Nazi invasion of Poland, is it the time for London's Mayor to use the occasion to accuse President Trump, Boris Johnson and Nigel Farage of being ‘poster boys for white nationalism’?

Your head would explode if he did.
I still say city mayors tend to be a waste of space, making more things worse than they improve. Khan seems to have lost the plot again, but is that news ?

As usual AOG, not only are you missing the point, you are also factually inaccurate.

Khan made the comment about Trump and other far right leaders - Yesterday. So it wasn’t on the anniversary of of the invasion of Poland. It wasn’t disrespectful.

Today Khan is in Gdansk to commemorate the invasion. He tweeted today
// Britain stood with Poland in 1939 after Nazi forces invaded. It was a privilege to represent London in Gdańsk this morning as we commemorated the 80th anniversary of the start of the Second World War and remembered those who gave their lives resisting Nazism. //

Warning of a return of nazism is something we should all take notice of. Lessons from history of the evil of nazis should be heeded. The timing of Khan’s Trump comments was timely and absolutely appropriate.

I thought AOG would have gone with the 'do we really need to apologise for past mistakes' angle.
What mistakes?
Germany has (or is to) apologise for Nazi atrocities.

Are you saying that Trump, Johnson and Farage are potential Nazis?
Were Farage and Johnson accused of being poster boys?
I'm pretty sure AOG isn't German.
You said 'we'. You obviously think the British have something to apologise for. Let's hear it.
//Today Khan is in Gdansk to commemorate the invasion.//

I wondered where he was. Hardly been seen or heard of in the UK for some time. Quite why the mayor of London should attend a ceremony to commemorate the invasion of Poland is a little unclear.

Does anyone know what Zac's is babbling on about?

Or maybe ZM misworded his statement, but you know, you keep pushing your point.
It's not unusual (copyright, Tom Jones 1968) for AOG to lump us all into a scenario in an effort to try to make some obtuse point.

/// Were Farage and Johnson accused of being poster boys? ///

Sadiq Khan has branded Trump as “the global poster boy for white nationalism”, whose example is being followed by too many leaders across Europe, including Johnson.

Writing in the Observer, Khan says Johnson and the Brexit party leader Nigel Farage are promoting similar far-right thinking in this country
// Quite why the mayor of London should attend a ceremony to commemorate the invasion of Poland is a little unclear. //

It is absolutely clear. We fought for the Poles and the Poles fought for us. Many Londoners as well as many Polish people gave their lives repelling Nazism. He probably has better reason to be there than the Vice President of the USA.
I thought Kahn was useless according to you, AOG* (*see various posts about knife crime from OP). Suddenly he's now someone worth quoting when it suits your argument!
// Quite why the mayor of London should attend a ceremony to commemorate the invasion of Poland is a little unclear. //

He was probably invited. The germans bombed the life out of London. so they have that in common with the poles.
ANOTHEOLDGIT, if you're going to use a quote, it's best not to amend what was actually written.

You don't want do mislead folk now, do you?

Where have I amended what was actually written?

I simply carried out a copy and post from the Guardian report.
