I am no longer a great advocate of our National Broadcasting Agency but putting politics aside and as Armistice Day is just past for another year does any one recall this wonderful (imo)BBC production.
It contained a fine cast: Geraldine Chaplin,Sir Alex Guinness, Leo McKern, Lauren Bacall ( my all time lover) Jean Moreau.
I am so glad I have it on DVD when I copied it from the TV viewing. How comedic and sad with a twist at the end.
A brilliant story. I might enjoy it later tonight. I need cheering up. :-)
