Yes, of course. Then there were the singing lessons, trying to remember what they were called, where we learned so many traditional songs and had triangles and tambourines to use when asked.

I ended up as one of the 'record monitors' for morning assembly and we played such things as 'From the New World', bits of Elgar and, when we had a request slot, 'Tubby the Tuba'. Thanks for bringing it all back. :)

"We pretend that you've got some balls - and I'm going to hide them" ;-)

We had "plimsolls" too, but otherwise, it didn't seem to change much in 30/40 years.

Thanks, Jourdain. I thought you weren't nice, but now I think you are... Yes, we did learn songs; I'm trying to remember them now.

We didn't catch the bus; instead we had a pennyworth of Kali and a ha'penny spanish.
We did 12+ Tilly, although it is 11 again now x
Shoota - trying to teach my granddaughter times tables by rote (she's as bad as I am at sums and that's the way I always coped, like me she goes blank when faced with a mathematical explanation) I've promised her a pretty fountain-pen for her 10th birthday if she learns them all (she is desperate for a pen like this)and she was doing fine with my weekly visits and checks - until I could no longer go a few weeks ago. I've a horrible feeling that she'll fail to recite them all to me so I must hang on to the pen. She was OK on all but a couple in the 6's and 7's a couple of weeks ago. :(
Plimsoles ? Pumps ?
We had daps.
Ok... lost with the money now :-)
