I assume your reference is to the dog named ***. Shame that past history can be amended to appease the present.
It's always guaranteed to get good viewing figures so folk can grump about it after.

Enjoy Moony x
the last time i watched it the name had not been excised.
when I last watched it, it hadn't been, neither has the YT version....
//n 1999, British television network ITV broadcast a censored version of the film, removing all utterances of "***". ITV blamed regional broadcaster London Weekend Television, which in turn alleged that a junior staff member had been responsible for the unauthorised cuts. When ITV again showed a censored version in June 2001, it was condemned by the Index on Censorship as "unnecessary and ridiculous" and because the edits introduced continuity errors. The British Channel 4 screened the censored American version in July 2007, in which the dialogue was dubbed so as to call the dog "Trigger", this screening took place just after the planned remake was announced. In September 2007, as part of the BBC Summer of British Film series, The Dam Busters was shown at selected cinemas across the UK in its uncut format. The original, uncensored, version was also shown on 1 and 5 January 2013, by Channel 5. It was the version, distributed by StudioCanal, containing shots of the bomber flying into a hill.//
When's it on, 'those naughty men who broke our dam' as our daughter referrred to it when Michael Redgrave died? My mother was apolplectic but we used to sail on the Moehne and eat cake!
It is somewhat amusing that there is more discussion about the name of a dog than other potential historical inaccuracies for dramatic effect within the film.
That's showbiz.
Should I be offended if somebody calls their dog Honky or Whitey?
It's up to you Frank.
have you ever heard anyone call their dog that, no i suspect not.
where n***** was quite common for a dog name, my best pal when young, around 10 or so had a dog with that name, i didn't then see it as offensive, but what does a ten year old know.
What channel is it on?
it's on so regularly, one can almost quote the script. Not sure when its on this time round.
Does anyone know what channel it's on?
No, can't think of me ever being a snowflake and melting at the sound of a word.

The fight started in the pub.
'' You stupid ugly old fat bar steward,'' he growled.
I replied, '' Less of the old!''

in a similar vein, an argument I witnessed resulted in one of the protagonists calling the other a word ruder than bottom. the insulted grabbed his assailant by the collar, and said "that's Mr (rude word) to you...."
Ha ha yes I know that one.

'' That's fighting talk where I come from - but I dont live there anymore!''
