The Tories seem to have conveniently forgotten . That when they call Corbyn and Blair terrorists.
Thatcher was not just a terrorist sympathiser but was also very close friends with one.
Thatcher gave very strong support to "Torture in Chief" General Pinochet of Chile, and called him a true friend.
She even invited him to tea at Downing St. She also personally lobbied against a terrorist prosecution for his war crimes. She personally conducted the whitewashing of his Terrorist Regime
Pinochet overthrew an elected Government in Chile to gain power and was supported by Thatcher.
Thatcher also classed Nelson Mandela's ANC as a Terrorist Organisation.
.....................Let them without sin cast the first stone.....................
I haven't got time to be incandescent about them, just yet Dave.....I'm in the last vestiges (downgraded to being a bit irked) of being miffed about Wellington/Napoleon....
Thatcher even lifted the arms embargo on Chile . That had been imposed by the previous Labour Government to enable her Govt to sell arms to Pinochet for him to carry on with his slaughter.
I keep on saying it, but how I wish AOG was still about and the news section was news. I really liked AB back then. Lots of arguments but usually intelligent ones.
Thousands of Citizens were herded into Chile's National football Stadium by Pinochets thugs. 40.000 were tortured, 32,000 killed , 200.000 fled into exile .
And to think Thatcher and her TORY Government supported the man who did this..........................................Unbelievable...................................
I suppose, in my case, it's in the vain hope that the OP could post in the correct section of AB and post properly topical articles rather than opinion-pieces.
Live in hope.....die in despair, as they say.
@18.26.Just thousands?Millions of Jews were murdered by a bunch of nationalist, socialists in the 1930s and 1940s.Yet Corbyn and his sheep-like followers on this site would like you to just ignore their anti-semitism.
Jack; why do people get in such a froth about posts in the wrong category? When I say 'people' I mean people like you. Are you trying to gain a technical point to avoid a sensible response?
Atheist, perhaps Gulliver could post in history rather than news and you could enjoy his posts. I am old enough to remember all mentioned events and more. It would be good to see more news in this section. Why are Gully's posts not removed and put in the correct sections by the editor these days?
