Do you think all Council run children's services be taken over by independent trusts?

There should be no complacency where a child, who is potentially at risk, is concerned.

I'm not sure that private profit-making companies are the best way to get good results for children.

I don't know. Considering the number of Covid deaths in care homes, it's not clear that private institutions are any better than council ones. (The last figure I could find is that 84% or private beds are run by profit-making companies.)

Sitting on the fence here.

Local authority children's homes have let down thousands of vulnerable children.
At the same time, private care homes have let down thousands of high paying old people (while the funds are available).
So privatising children care may have some advantages, but also might have some similar disadvantages.

I'm surprised at you on that one, surely many of the deaths were caused by the Government pushing covid out of the hospitals into the care homes in the early days?

As for the Child care, I have pretty much the same stance as Gromit.

I think it interesting that the vast majority of children's homes in England are in the private sector (77%) but only 1 of the 13 secure children's homes is private.

Children’s Services work to ensure that children have the tools they need to grow in healthy communities. It engages with Indigenous leaders and communities, the Government, Corporates under CSR, community agencies and other stakeholders to provide children's services such as taking care of them, their nutrition, education and more.
Yes, it should be taken over by independent trusts as that way more children will get the services more efficiently. As the work done by independent but multiple trusts is more than done by All Council.
