no, just speak English loudly and clearly and they'll soon understand you.
Just take lessons in making Molotov cocktails.
My in-laws said when they lived in Russian occupied Hungary you only needed to understand a few Russian phrases to get by:
"Give me you watch"
"I want your food"
Etc

My auld Dad and other POWs ( a lorra other POWs ) started Russian in late 1944 - liberated May 1945

they were pooping themselves a bit like the Ukrainians now about being liberated by the Red Army and going straight into a gulag

Going back to me auld Dad, there was a secret treaty with Stalin ( yeah uncle Joe that is) that the liberated allied POWs would NOT go to a gulag but would be entrained to Odessa and shipped home

it only made the POWs poop more

ONE camp did it - Arthur Crook's memoirs USP ( unique selling point silly otherwise it is just a journal of - "I spent 5 y in a pow camp"

My auld Dad gets an honourable mench. The Sappers relay 6 mi of railway in 7 d to get to Odessa ( wow!)

Oh, and THAT was why the allies returned russian nationals back to stalin where they DDDDDIIIIIIIEEEEEEEDDD ( betrayal of Yalta) because if they didnt, the allies feared they wouldnt get their POWs back ( Aug 1945 )

Yes and JJ Whitley gin available in all good supermarkets is made in Russia. It says so on the bottle. It's permanently off my shopping list for obvious reasons.
I am grateful to Asda for including the information on their shopping website although I have to admit I bought a bottle of the stuff unknowingly about six months ago.
To hit back, I've stopped playing Russian roulette.
