I've worn a white poppy for many years now and will continue to do so.

It's becoming more common according to this article:

A pointless affectation IMHO. I agree with its purpose, but not its replacing a respectful acknowledgement of the sacrifice of heroes.
a long as you don't have 'Yes' scrawled across it, like that Queen N acolyte, Michelle Thomson, stoopid woman that she is.
Your choice. No idea why you felt the need to announce it. Not virtue signalling are you?

It irritates me every year that BBC people who appear on screen are obviously instructed that they have to wear a red poppy ages before remembrance day whether they like it or not.
I used to wear a purple pin poppy with my normal red one for animals killed in war,, then I added a small pin white one for the civilians killed and as a wish for peace, now it seems it is time to add a black one for those of black origin who fought alongside... Sorry no, the red poppy is for all service personnel and in my book all should be equally valued. There is also a rainbow poppy for LGBTQ+ service persons, for me the same rule applies.
A red poppy for me, like the ones that grew in Flanders fields.
White Poppy wearers = Conscientious objector.

Inspite of the period they called the Phoney War, had the government been full of Conchies, it would have been a pretty naive stance to take.

All nation governments (well nearly all) want 'peace in our time', however there are sometimes you are compelled to stand up and fight.

How on earth do you know that the 'BBC people' are obviously instructed to wear red poppies ??? I have worn a red one for years and will continue to do so. Never, ever seen a white one !
Perlease!
I don't believe in 'remembrance' in any form. There should be no funerals, no cemeteries, no memorials and no remembrance services. The dead are dead and should be instantly forgotten. Therefore I refuse to wear any form of poppy and I offer my whole-hearted support to those who publicly burn them.
Good point at 18.30.
chico, you have no appreciation of history? How your nation and safe cosy existence where won? Very Strange.
Chris has posted some things which suggest he has very little compassion for his fellow humans before. Each to his own.
which charity collects the revenue from white poppies?

and from rainbow poppies?
18:47, yes he celebrates when vulnerable people are conned for example.
//which charity collects the revenue from white poppies?//

According to the Peace Pledge Union [the outfit which sells white poppies] website: ‘Any money raised over and above the cost of producing, publicising and distributing the white poppies goes to fund our education work.’

This work includes creating resources for schools on the subject of conscientious objection and nonviolent resistance and maintaining and publicising records on the same topic.

Dunno about rainbow poppies.
And he'd probably mourn one of his dead cats, but not some young man who died that he and all of us may live.
I wear both red and white together. Paying tribute to those who fought, and celebrating the relative peace we've had since go hand in hand imho
Whoa!! Having a go at Buenchico is well out of order!
^ Why ?? Is he exempt when he makes the sort of statements he does - should he not be challenged ??
