The studio buildings on south side of Talgarth Road were round the corner from us, and we saw Rudolph one day heading for his day's rehearsal. Mind you, we had Townsend, Jagger, me, and loads of others round there at the time. Andy Law will no doubt be lost to history.

God you must have had money ( or lu-lu)
they werent cheap even in those days
Question Author
PP;
I didn't live in or own one of those properties! I just lived round the corner!
Question Author
PP; Have you ever seen them? They had gorgeous twenty-foot high north-facing windows so that the Bacons, Freuds etc could work in peace (I know that Lucian used artificial light, so please don't tick me off!)
My son saw him as well. He (son) lived in W14.
I never met Nureyev but I know people who did and he wasn't the nicest person to deal with. I met Mick Jagger though.
Question Author
lady... So I wasn't hallucinating! W14 did exist; and it really was an artistic node.
Just ignore me I don't mind :/
Question Author
237... I'm sorry. I'm always reluctant to address you directly because of your 'SJ' and your general charismatic demeanour.
So; you met Mick Jagger?
I heard the same about Nureyev 237.

Atheist I loved where he lived. Never been to the area until he got a flat there. A quiet road but so much going on nearby My daughter and friend slept on a bench on Brook Green all night once having fallen out with my son. Said they felt totally safe. I had a hissy fit when they told me. Sorry I'm wittering again:-(
I'm detecting a bit of sarcasm there :) Yes I met him. He's tiny and very wrinkled. When I met him he was with l'wren Scott so a few years ago
Question Author
237 and ladybirders. Do either of you remember or ever hear of the Cedars? (A music pub just north of the Talgarth Road/North End Road junction?)
Question Author
237. No sarcasm intended. I try to say what I mean rather than be clever or snide. Some would no doubt disagree with me and accuse me of stuff, but I put that down to their instinctive dislike and mistrust of a simple soul.
I've never met Jagger. Was he really tiny compared to you? Who's l'wren Scott?
Funny place, Barons Court.

The former Formula One driver, Prince Birabongse Bhanudej Bhanubandh of Siam, commonly known as Prince Bira, or "B. Bira", who was a member of the Thai Royal family, was found dead at the station on 23-Dec-1985.
Heard of Cedars but never went.

237 can you remember roughly the year you met Nureyev?
Question Author
NJ: 1985 is a bit after my time. What was the cause of death?
Question Author
lady...Where did your son live?
Applegarth Road.
//NJ: 1985 is a bit after my time. What was the cause of death?//

Heart failure, Atheist. He was 71 years old and had taken part in the very first Formula One World Championship race in 1950:

I have a similar interesting - or perhaps not so interesting - fact (or sometimes two or three) about every one of the 272 London Underground stations. The LU is a particular interest to me (I'm what you might call a "tube nerd" and have an extensive knowledge of the system). I once completed the "Tube Challenge" and visited all the stations in a single day. I'm still recovering. :-)
would you have had enough time left over to venture to Battersea?
Would that be anywhere near Cromwell Place? Mention of the tall windows made me think of a painting by John Lavery of a Zeppelin raid over London drawn through the window of his sitting room.
Though I suppose enormous windows in a rich city like London wouldn't be that unusual.
