Same about Alfred, not sure he got over to Suffolk much (mainly based around Wessex etc)
Thanks for the responses though, will certainly concentrate a bit on these answers. Anyone else?
Peter Pedant seems to have moved King Edward the Martyr a few hundred miles! He was killed at Corfe Castle and he was buried at Wareham Priory. His remains were later moved to Shaftesbury Abbey. Relics, possibly from his body, are now at Brookwood.
I've just checked Wikipedia's entries for all the Saxon, Dane, Norman & Plantagenet kings and it doesn't seem to be one of them. It's most likely to be one of the East Anglian kings. These are listed here: http://www.britannia.com/history/monarchs/eastang.html but I'll leave it for someone else to do the research.
Anyway, Redheap, shouldn't BT staff be doing something more important? :-)
I live near to BT's research centre at Adastral Park and I've often wondered what went on there. Now I know! (Confused ABers should see the original source of this question: http://www.adastral-hub.com/events_quiz.html).

Buenchico, got to have annual leave at some point, and this Christmas was spent doing quizzes with the family.
It is most likely to be one of the East Anglian kings as you surmise (but not necessarily an English king), have checked out the likes of Raedwald as the obvious answer but the difficulty does seem to lie in tracking down the baptism -back in those days it was a fair few days marching from E Anglia across to Somerset so there has to be another reason for it somewhere!
