Thankfully they failed to break the glass or damage the Magna Carta

damn savages....etc

Pens, highlighters, and sharp implements are not allowed, but you can bring a pencil to make notes.    So how the .... did a hammer and chisel get through security ? I was told to place my umbrella in a locker with my coat last time I visited.

A right pair of Nuts in May.

unusual: protesters usually attack art works without damaging protective glass; it arouses just as much righteous fury and takes less effort.

Give it a rest jno, even if the glass didnt break it will have to be replaced in case there are fractures.

Jail time I think for this bunch.  Won't learn otherwise, unless of cause the vigilantes hvae enough and that is not a good thing.

There's something wrong with people like them.  Completely irrational.

of course it will, ymb, I didn't say otherwise. I was recommending protests that don't damage property as being equally effective.

Oh I see, appologies then.

Ironic that they seek to damage a historical artefact that enshrines the very laws that they accuse the government of breaking.

Then again, logical thinking has nver been the domain of the utterly self-righteous attention-seeking brigade, of which these two, both old enough and supposedly intelligent enough to know better, are clearly A-List members.

I find it baffling that anyone imagines that wanton vandalism is ever going to endear anyone to their cause.

I find it baffling that anyone imagines...

perhaps they're aware that wanton vandalism played a significant role in gaining women the vote? 🔪

Perhaps I should go out and commit wanton vandalism to 'stop the boats' or reduce my heavy tax burdon?

Why do people constantly rely on the history of the suffragettes to support their opinions on this?  Unlike this bunch of mindless morons the suffragettes were asking for something that could easily be granted.

I know what my grandmother would have called this pair.  I'll stick to the far more polite "morons" & I hope (but doubt) they receive a heavy punishment.

Why do people constantly rely on the history of the suffragettes to support their opinions on this

because the suffragettes' tactics worked. The more conciliatory approach of the Chartists, for instance, did not.

But what these people want isn't possible, Jno.  It's a ridiculous cause.

IMO the suffragettes antics made little difference to getting the vote. There were plenty making the case without stunts anyway. It was a change that had reached it's time to be implemented.

As for idiots trying to damage works of art and historic documents, they seem unable to be left to themselves in society. They would be better off cared for in an institution.

Wazzocks!

Bless you!
