She's right she did not crash the economy, the Labour chancellor is doing that right now. Truss budget was never implemented and even if it was it's not as bad as what we now have. Solid case I'd say

//Truss said it would be "economic illiteracy" to suggest that tax rises from Labour - at that point anticipated in Rachel Reeves' upcoming first Budget - were a result of her economic inheritance. //

"economic illiteracy" is Reeves' stock in trade I think...

If the words were uttered in parliament there would be no case to answer.  They can say what they like there.

Why did Truss resign then?

What's that old saying? Where there's muck there's a brass neck.

It appears she recieved an appology from the Cabinet Secretary last year for the Kings Speech in which the Snivel Serpants described it as 'disatrous'

As you say, it was never implemented, unlike what labour has unleashed on the Nation.

Get the pop corn.

//Why did Truss resign then?//

Because the men in grey suits told her to.

//If the words were uttered in parliament there would be no case to answer.  They can say what they like there.//

The only problem is they wernt. One was a tv show.

Of course the BBC articel fails to mention this.

You'd think the former head of the CPS would know about legal stuff but then again, he's now the PM and hasn't got a clue about being a human being.

Part of me hopes he doesn't cease and desist and loses a court case big style, but he will .

12:48 Yes Truss was forced out by her own side. I thought her budget was fine but it upset the spivs and they made a racket. Not sure why they are not doing that now. What Rachel from HR has done is 1000 times worse and they are wearing that.

Making money off it TTT, thats why.  Just like they did with Truss.

From the BBC in 2023,

"Current Chancellor Jeremy Hunt has said this was a fundamental error by Mr Kwarteng. If the OBR had provided a forecast alongside the mini-budget, Mr Kwarteng would have been forced to show how his £45bn in tax cuts would balance with spending cuts or increased borrowing.

Instead, the mini-budget had a solitary table asserting how, theoretically, the gap could be filled if the economy grew faster.

It was the equivalent of trying to pay a restaurant bill with an Instagram photo of some gold bars." (emphasis added)

Not sure what happened with the format there...

she's an idiot

And? Whats that got to do with what 2TK said?

Nice attempt at whaterboutery though.  But if you think you are cleverer than Ms Truss' brief perhaps youhad better talk to them.

On the other hand I wouldnt or your likely to get yet another punch on the nose.

13:01 Perhaps but she has a solid case, she did not crash the economy and Tool and the gang keep saying she did. He should think himself lucky that she's only after a CAD order. She'd win a slander/libel case hands down.

If Truss was not responsible, why did she resign?

Never implemented ? It went far enough that it's disastrous effect became clear immediately. It was still the cause of the economy bombing.

It didnt "Bomb".

I'd choose your words carefully or AB could find itslef on the receiving end of a letter from Truss' briefs.

and it will go nowhere because she'll lose

If the proposed Budget was fine and dandy, why was the OBR not given the opportunity to review it and give an opinion on it?

Why was her Chancellor asked to resign/sacked?

Why did Truss resign if the financial consequences were not of her making?
