In case you haven't noticed Bracknell, the question was in reference to Christians and the Bible. Leave Muslims out of it, it's not a soapbox/opportunity for you to take a swipe at us with your obvious lack of understanding and generalalisations. The anti-Muslim bandwagon quite full at the moment, why don't you waste your time hating some other people. I prefer to concentrate and build on what various religions have in common, not on what divides them. This includes the books of other faiths, where their content may differ and contradict the Quran. But I am commanded to observe, respect and protect the practictioners and the holy books of other faiths, and many share the same teachings and Prophets as Muslims.

Answer to question.......................

Because they believe in fairy stories aswell!

Religion is at the moment the cause of most wars and terrorism, even the war that has started in this thread!

I think I will go and stand next to Clarion, anyone going to join us?

To LLonnie, maybe it is the misinterpretation of the Bible and other holy books that have caused the war, or man distorting it to suit their own ends. The Bible tells us that the most important commandments are to love God with all your heart and to love your neighbours as yourselves, and of course that we are not here to judge (he who hath no sin cast the first stoneetc). The Quran does not say go out and blow yourself up, but misinterpretation has led to this happening. There are people out there whether christian or muslimetc who have alot of strength to be able to follow a religion proplerly and not to distort it to suit themselves as the likes of George Bush AND Osama Bin Laden!! They are not here to judge others, they are not God/Allah.

all christians look up to god. that is why they want to be like him or do things that pleases him. the bible is the word of god and christians belive that that will please god and make them a better person. :-)

2 Timothy 3; 16,17 "16 All Scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work".
As a born and raised Catholic, no longer now though I cant believe in a God that would cause so much pain and fear in the world. Any way the Bible obviously is important to Christians. Why? its the word of God. Unfortunately, it is mans interpretation of what God or Jesus was ingtending to mean. Like Chinese Whispers, it has changed over time. Originally written with real religious and pious intentions, I feel now that it has been adapted for mans needs to galvanise people for not necessarily moral ideals - Rome - The Borgias, Middle Ages - The Crusades , Now - Bush. The last one, Bush, just demonstrates the importance of the Bible, as it is on this that we are at war with the middle east. Check out Bush's recent interviews. That is why the Bible is important. Scary.
