They given them loads of difficult home work.
not a lot, I don't think. The Czechs (and Slovaks) spent a long time unwillingly as a satellite of the Soviet Union but gained their independence quite a while ago and have since then looked firmly to the west. I dare say there are still a lot of older people who long for the boring stability of Soviet society, but historically the country was part of central Europe rather than eastern Europe, and they're now back there again.
Czechoslovakia used to be under Hungarian rule for hundreds of years as well and they still influence parts of Slovakia today.
Higher gas prices as The Czech Republic is now part of the European Union and the Russians are now flexing their muscles in the market place.
