Hi Everyone I am looking for the above classic french films on Video or DVD. Problems is, I would like the films with French subtitles or No subtitles. I would like the films new or used & UK playable. Any suggestions anyone? Thanking you in advance

AFAIK the standard version: http://www.play.com/play247.asp?pa=srmr&page=title&a mp;r=R2&title=734989
is in French with the subtitles (in English) as an option rather than on the print. Not seen the DVD, so probably best to check in a shop before you buy.

Glad you got the response you wanted. Just as an aside I've stayed in a house on the square in the village where it was filmed and its just as beautiful for real as it is in the films. In fact the house is pictured on one of the paperback versions of Florette !!!

Please can you tell me where exactly you stayed & can you suggest any B&B's in or around the area. where both films made in the same village?. I have dreams of visiting the Provance area.

With regard to my previous question. How can I be sure I've purchased a DVD which has subtitles as an option, which I can disable. I dont want the films with english subtitles. What should l I look out for, looking on websites, none of the techno stuff mentions subtitles are optional or permanant. Can anyone Help !!

The listing at Play implies that the subs are a switchable option. You could try emailing them, but your best bet is to pop into your local DVD Emporium and just get them to stick the disc in a player. Normally the languages listed under "subtitles" are optional, but there is a small possibility with something like JdF/MdS that they just used the cinema print for the DVD. If you have a largish rental store near you, this might also be an option.
