How do I go about finding out about a relative that served in WWII and received the Military Medal?

The Public Records Office in Kew, seem to only have records for WWI on their website, as yet.

Is there an official government site anyone knows of?

Hi Queen of Sheba,

It's an easy one. Just write to their Head Quarters, giving as much detail as possible and they will help you out. To get their address either log on the Army web site or type in HQ Royal Scots Fusilliers and an address will come up. If you have no luck then write to the HQ of RRF (Royal Regiment of Fusilliers) at

HQ RRF, Her Majesty's Royal Palace and Fortress, The Tower of London, London. EC3N 4AB.

They take 6-8 months to arrive and will cost �30. You also need to provide proof of death of the person and a letter of consent from their next of kin.

If you phone the number above, they will send you an information pack and all the necessary forms.
