i know i've asked this before when i asked what are they, but no one said if they were green. i've been told that pea soupers were green but is this true?

No. They were known as pea soupers because the smog was thick and inpeneterable - a bit like pea soup.

During Victorian times they would most probably have been yellowish in colour due to the smoke from domestic fires.
