It really depends upon whether they decide to categorise us with the ruling monarch of our era as in the past (Elizabethan, Tudor, Georgian, Victorian etc) in which case we may be known as the Second Elizabethan period (or 2nd generation as above). Alternatively, other designations can be found through various sources. We currently live in a period called Modern Britain which is slightly inapt as it is not likely to be followed by an Old Fashioned Britain or More Modern Britain/Post-modern Britain (when does modernism end?). Another suggestion is from post-Victorian with Early 20th Century (1901- 1944) but this includes Edwardian and Post WW2 (1945 present). But these are simplistic terms for modern Britain, again it depends upon how our future generations span the eras and what the future brings. If there happens to be a major national event in the next 100 years or so then that may end up being our tag, then it really will be the end of an era.
