German /Polish / Jewish genealology records

Hi researching my wife's family tree whose one lot of grandparents are Polish/ German/ Jewish. There are not a huge number of records online for Germany ( they seemed to arrive there from Poland mid 1800's). Does anyone (I'm thinking maybe dot.hawkes or anyone else for that matter) know the system for recording births mariages and deaths in Germany at this time please and are there any online resources? My German is pants by the way, so I have a feeling this is going to be very arduous. Thanks in advance.

Hi Nox, Your right, you've taken on quite a task, and I wish you all the best with it, My brother, whose more family orientated than me, traced our family, (or part of it), back to Spain, he's away at the moment, but when he comes back, i'll get some info from him,

At present, the best site i've found, for your purpose, is www.howtogermany.com/pages/genealogy.html . Its mainly for Americans with roots in Germany, but there are links you may find useful, and at the bottom of the page, there is a telephone and fax number. Good luck.

My ex husdands great grandmother Lucy Muller was born in Saxe-Coburg as recorded on the 1891 census in Fulham and I joined this society in 1991 and found many good sources, I never found Lucy but I think I found her father Henry and Mother's marriage. it is worth trying. I should really go back sometime and have another look i suppose.
