in the beginning there were only 8 now there are more than 120 - what are they?

I'm confused. Is the word 'facts' just a title or is it, in effect, part of the question? In other words, is it a set of 120 facts that we're looking for or is it just a fact that there are now 120 of these things - whatever they may be - whereas there were originally a mere 8 of them?

Could the answer be - just as an example - the number of teams in the Football League? Perhaps - I've no idea personally - 'way back in the 1880s, or whenever, there were 8 teams and now there are 120. Similarly, it might be 'Olympic sports' or several thousand other things. Give us a clue!
