It's my birthday on Wednesday and i find that i am not in the slightest bit worried about getting 'older'.

Does that mean i am not yet getting 'older'...?

Or that i am deluded...?

I have friends of a similar age who are gutted that they reach another birthday, FFS!!!!

Is it SO very wrong to love being the age you are, regardless of that age...?

Am i normal...? (Please tell me i am... !)

i'm quite happy being the age i am to fee! my husband keeps reminding me that i'm getting old (he is 3 yrs younger than me) but when we got stopped in town to do a survey the other day the man asking the question said "age bracket sir - i'd say 28 - 35" at which point my husband nearly lamped him but then mumbled "no i'm 22". i nearly peed myself laughing!!! xXx
Age is just a number,
im 45, go to the gym three times a week, jog at least 7 miles a day, practice aikido and karate, enjoy a gin + tonic and enjoy every minute of every day.
Having a wife 17 years my junior and 2 small kids (one 3 year old and the other still a wee 9 week old baby) helps, but yes fee-is-me you are normal

PS Happy Birthday in advance, have a wondeful day.
You know, I actually have to think about how old I am, I forget because it's not actually that important in the grand scheme of things. I'm 38 (I think, lol) but I feel no different to how I did in my early 20's. I can't say I'm that fussed about my 40th being on the horizon either, it's just a good excuse for a proper party :o)
And a very Happy Birthday for Weds Fee! xxx

Aw thanks guys :0)

SO... I AM NORMAL!!

(Might come as a surprise to some.)
fee many happy returns for Wednesday, hope you have a smashing day :o)xx

I also have to think about how old I am (35) as I feel about 22. Don't worry one jot about my age, and feel far happier in my own skin these days than I did throughout my 20s. Sexual peak, no worrying about what others think (very liberating), experienced enough to know at least some sh1t too help you thru any tough times, and to know what you want, and how to get it. Love being in my 30s, and I'm improving with age, so roll on my forties. if you're normal fee, then so am I babes it seems... lmao xx
Hi fee, happy birthday for Wednesday!!!!!
I am cool with my age but don't like saying it out loud now cause I'm approaching 40 !!! lol

I think age is just a number really though and you're as old as you feel, for me that's about 90 some days so I'm looking good on it!!!!!! ;-)

I think this a great time of life to be honest when you finally feel happy with who and what you are, if you know what i mean ! Could do with just staying this age for a while longer though. The only thing that gets to me, is how fast time is passing by
I'm in my late fifties and I hate it. The nearer I get to 60 the more depressed I feel. Where have all the years gone?

Oh Kick... you give with one hand and then take with the other...

I agree totally on everything you say. There is something about being in your 30s that feels SO damn good, isn't there?

But... you say that if i am normal, so are you... now why does that fill me with fear...?!

LMU... shout it from the rooftops, woman... You are gorgeous! Be proud!
Question Author
Ah - but is it the big '60' that bothers you, manathu, or more where you 'are' now you are nearing 60...?
fear? really? a certain discomfort, unease or disquiet perhaps I could understand, but FEAR? omg, how bad do I seem on here ;oP
Question Author
Lol...

Wa ha ha ha ha ha ha ha...

See...?
wow, THAT bad ;oP

*fee backs out of the room smiling*
Have to agree with the majority here fee-is-me, I love being 37 and 3/4 and it never worries me. I always am happy to say my age, I never understand why there is always a big hoo ha - why?????
The only worrying thing for me is how flipping fast time flies; I guess that means I'm having fun!
It is very refreshing to hear of people unafraid of getting old. I am like you, fee...totally relaxed about my age & actually looking forward to hitting 40 (18 months & counting!!!)

No way on this earth would I go back to my teens or 20's. I love watching my kids grow & becoming independent.

Many happy returns for Wednesday :o) :o)

sunflower - love your name!!

thanks Pippsicle :0)

i agree - i would not wish to go back to my teens or twenties for any reason at all. i have, of course, made some 'mistakes' in life, but i think of them simply as being incidents that have made me who i am now... and i really LIKE who i am now!

that's not to say that i love everything about myself (terribly, terribly anal... a la Monica on 'Friends'... drive myself and everyone else nuts...) but i ACCEPT everything about myself - the good and the bad.

a 'friend' told me last year that i was now middle-aged (i turned 35 btw) and my life would become hell. well, if this is middle-age... BRING IT ON!!!!!!

Its my birthday on Wednesday also, I will be 34 and take great delight in telling everybody. I like it when you get an age badge. I will be so excited and the fact that I will be 34 instead of 33 will not bother me at all. So I will say that you are perfectly normal, hope so anyway else thats two of us.

P.S Have a great day
ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh orangelady, hope you have a great day on wednesday!!!!!
