not sure here, just an inkling
maybe
The Jewsih God is Jewish
The Christian God is Christian
The Muslim God is Muslim
The Hindu Gods are Hindi
etc etc etc etc
If there is only one God, does it not stand to reason that the Judaeo-Christian and Muslim ones must be the same person ?
Also... no mention is made of Jesus's appearance, stature etc. Zaccheus climbed into a sycamore tree to get a better look. Who was small - Zaccheus, or maybe Jesus....? Fascinating.
Zacchaeus was a wee little man
And a wee little man was he
He climbed up in a sycamore tree
For the Lord he wanted to see
And as the Lord came passing by
He looked up in that tree
And He said, Zacchaeus, you come down!
For Im going to your house today
For Im going to your house to stay
I think most of the world's major religions are monotheistic, thus, one God we just call him/her different names (but not in a blasphemous way!)
1 Jesus entered Jericho and was passing through.
2 A man was there by the name of Zacchaeus; he was a chief tax collector and was wealthy.
3 He wanted to see who Jesus was, but being a short man he could not, because of the crowd.
4 So he ran ahead and climbed a sycamore-fig tree to see him, since Jesus was coming that way. (NIV)
Seriously though, now I am older & wiser (slightly) I see the description of Zacchaeus as being short or 'little' was a derogatory term. He was despised (being a tax collector) so the term 'little man' could be seen in the same context as you or I saying ''look at that despicable little man''
As the crowd was large I don't doubt there were others climbing trees to see Jesus ~ whether they were tall or short.
1 On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus' mother was there,
2 and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. (NIV)
Now, it is suggested that if you amend the punctuation slightly and put a full stop after the second 'Jesus', making 'And his disciples...' a new sentence, then it could have been Jesus' own wedding. There is no punctuation in the Greek.
Poppycock of course, shades of Da Vinci Code rubbish.
Yes, all poppycock. Interesting, isn't it, that when the wine ran out they came to Jesus, supposedly only a guest, to sort it out. Mmm... would be significant if the whole thing wasn't pure fantasy anyway.
God is not a Jew, he is a mighty spirit and has no nationality. If you read Chapter 17 of Genesis you will read the account of a covenant that God made with Abraham, this is because Abraham was a righteous man and walked with God. Abraham's son was called Isaac and Isaac's son was Jacob which God later changed to Isreal. Jacob (Isreal) had 12 sons from which came the 12 tribes of Isreal. Because of the love that God had for Abraham and the covenant he made with him, these 12 tribes which made up the nation of Isreal became God's chosen people. According to Jesus words in Matthem 23 verse 37 the Jews are no longer God's chosen people. In Acts 10 verses 34 and 35 it tells us that God is not partial but in every nation the man that fears him and works righteousness is acceptable to him.
