I am trying to find a site that would give me info and maps of my local area. I live in Havant Hants and would like to find maps of how the area looked 100 or more years ago

Ordnance survey did a series of maps in 1840 -444, 1889-93 and 1912 (think i have remembered those years right but defo close) these were the 1mile to 2" maps and are excellent for locating even the smallest dwellings.

The OS also did a 6" to a mile series.

These are available in most Local Studies Libraries for each particular area the Library covers.

There is also a series of books published by The Village Press which contains these maps in book form but not every area is covered, The Village Press used to be at 7d Keats parade, Church Street, Edmonton N9 9DP.
The Ordnance Survey have reprinted a lot of their maps from 100 years or so ago
