No female heirs to the throne

If females couldn't be heirs to the throne, who would have been heir to George VI?

The Duke of Gloucester would have been king. His father was the next male heir of George the fifth father of George the sixth. He had two children William who died in a plane crash in 1972 and Richard our present Duke of Gloucester.

As Jennymac hasn't come back on this - the late Duke of Gloucester was a brother to George VI and his name was Henry

If females were unable to inherit, wouldn't that mean that Victoria would not have been queen, so George VI would never have been on the throne? You would have to go back the Hanoverians to work it out.

If females were unable to inherit there would have been no Hanoverian Line either, since George I traced his lineage to James I and Charles I through his mother, Electress Sophia of Hanover.
