From the Britishness Quiz in the Independent and a question asked by Andrew Marr ;

"We know about Alfred the Great because a monk called Asser wrote his life . But who was Asser's audience ?"

I guess by his audience he means who did he write the book for.

Any help would be really appreciated as I am very close to finishing this massive Quiz.

Asser's life of Alfred was probably not intended to circulate at court, and many offer Asser's associates in Wales as likely readers. There is a little snippet amongst this lot

Good luck with this Quiz ....it seems very difficult and I hope you do well.
