my grandad served with the marines and sbs during ww2 any body know of the unit known as viper force. he (grandad) is reluctant to talk about his service (understandably) but he has told me he served in the jungle on river patrols.

Further to the info above...

It appears that Viper Force was formed with Royal Marines who were originally part of Overt Force i.e. a Mobile Naval Base Defence Organisation (MNBDO) stationed in the Maldives garrison and comprised of The 1st Royal Marine Coast Defense Regiment.
