One day he had to ride through Indian territory which measured 120 square miles
How far could he ride into their territory in two days

Ah one of these questions.I think he can ride into it for 60 miles and then the next 60 miles he would be riding out of the territory.

And he wouldn't need 2 days to do it. Less than 6 hours would be enough.

feebee102, It is NOT 120 miles across! It is 120 SQUARE miles. That is a square just under 11 miles by 11 miles! Tiny in fact.

Theoretically the territory may be only half a mile wide therefore 240 miles long. So he would have covered 100 miles in two days riding into it, not having reached the middle.

I was just going to say the same thing! Square miles is a great measurement if you plan to buy a carpet, but provides no clue to distance :)

So, maybe it is a trick question.....

I suspect that this was meant to be a trick question, but that the setter intended to say 120 miles square, not square miles.
