Why wont he talk?
My son is almost 2. He still wont talk. We have heard him say quite a few words, each only once or twice, and then never again. He said "apple" clear as day, we clapped and told him good job! all the praise you give a liitle one who says a word very well and we never here it again. What should we do? Is there a need to worry?

If you've heard his voice and heard a word clearly then there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with either his hearing or his voice box.
Some children speak early ; some later.
It's no measure of intellect. Be patient.
In a few years time you'll be posting a question asking how you can shut him up.

My sister had exactly the same with her little boy. She took him to the GP and now they visit speech therapy once a week and is really seems to be helping. Also, when he started goint to play group three mornings a week, being around other kids his age really seemed to bring him out of himself.
Speak to your GP, it can only set your mind at rest.

it may be glue ear. My daughter had it and needed grommets and my sisters daughter is due to have hers done. Its very difficult as with glue ear, one minute their fine the next they cant hear, which explains the one minute they say something the next they dont. I am sure your health visitor would refer him at his check, if they had any concern. good luck
