Hi there,
Have recently developed a bit of a passion for steak and was just wondering whether the George Foreman lean mean grilling thing cooks a steak well?
Thanks

it's fantastic for steaks they come out really juicy and succulent
Just remember to halve your usual cooking time as it cooks both sides at once.
sorry but i have to totally disagree. i find the george foreman makes steak (and most other foods) like cardboard. it doesn't brown food, just kind of steams it. really, really awful. if you haven't got one, don't waste your money buying one.
best way to cook a steak is under a very hot grill.
i agree with ethandron - its almost like "steaming" the steak. My solution is to do one side at a time, by leaving the lid up - then it tastes pretty good
i do not like george foreman grill and it make meat rery tough.
Id rather fry mine in liitle olive oil and small nut of butter some chopped shallots, parsley, garlic. do not burn your herbs it is delicious and it is healthy.
Have to agree with some of the above. The GF grill lasted 1 day in my kitchen! Worst cooked steak i'd ever had.
I just rub my steaks with a little olive oil, sea salt and black pepper then into a (very hot) dry griddle pan. Lots of smoke but worth it for the fantastic flavour!
Oh, and don't forget to let it rest for 5 minutes after cooking in a warm place so the juices re-distribute in the meat.
its the best thing i think, dont use anything else but my george
Never used a George but I cook my steaks in a similar way to indian. Rub them with crushed garlic and coarse ground black pepper and leave to come to room temperature. Then onto a very hot dry griddle pan for as little time as I dare.
Love my George, got a really big one, mushrooms, steaks etc are perfect but if I only do 1 or 2 I use a griddle pan.
the best way to cook a stake is in a very hot pan touch of olive oil but before you put the stake on the pan make a gravy and chop an onion fry the onion a for two minutes then put the stake on cook it to just before how you like it and then put the gravy in get a big plate of chips and your done
